- they can significantly extend their capabilities and evolve dynamically with new properties and restrictions over time
- they can serve as on-chain mutable storage entities that can interact with both on-chain and off-chain data
- they overcome existing limitations of current standards and allow developers to quickly adapt and integrate future ones
